About Us

Who we are

Stand Out For Environment Restoration (SOFER) Initiative is a registered community based NGO committed to raising environmental awareness and also inspire the youths and general public to take action towards attitudinal change through a range of creative programs. We also support community actions and behavioral change towards the environment.

Since November 2010, we have been working with over 400 volunteers across Rivers State, Akwa Ibom State, Lagos State, Cross River State and Abuja to execute environmental activities and also inspire youths to develop communities.

Safe Underwaters

At SOFER Initiative, we strategically channel our efforts into areas where we can create the most significant environmental impact. By concentrating on key issues such as pollution reduction, biodiversity enhancement, and sustainable community practices, we aim to drive meaningful change that not only restores the environment but also empowers communities to safeguard their natural surroundings for future generations.

Were we focus

Targeted Efforts in Key Areas for Maximum Environmental Impact:

  • Promoting environmental protection and restoration.
  • Developing and promoting Youth volunteerism in communities and the provision of educational resources for schools on ways to improve and protect the environment.
  • Providing solutions that address the challenges of marine plastics through collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support and promote policies that condemns environmental degradation and promote sustainable development.
  • Encouraging the promotion of environmental friendly activities and community involvement in the design, development, finance and implementation of environmental solutions.
  • Changing and/or modifying perceptions of individuals towards the environment.
  • Providing waste management systems – such as incinerators, refuse dump sites, waste baskets, cans and garbage bags for communities / municipalities.
  • Improving the quality of participation of the civil society in the process of environmental sustainability, awareness and socio-economic development.

Our Mission

To use various awareness strategies to reduce, reuse and recycle waste while improving biodiversity and promoting positive attitude towards the environment.

What we do

We educate and advocate, while creating environmental awareness by working with the youths to provide practical opportunities for positive behavioural change.
