Fishing Net Gains (FNG) is a 3-year project fundament designed in line with the Global Ghost Gear Initiative (GGGI) & Fisheries & Oceans Canada goals of identifying and tackling the issues of ghost gear and other related threats to marine life in Nigeria and the West Coast of Africa by creating economic frontiers for coastal communities and harnessing collaboration with government and stakeholders on policy development and standard practice.
SOFER Initiative facilitated a beach clean-up exercise with GIVANAS foundation; a charity organization under GIVANAS group of companies which produce cosmetics, beverages and foods. The beach clean-up exercise held on the 9th of December 2017 at Tarkwa Bay, Lagos state and was done in a bid to give back to the community.

This campaign was directed at the local traders in Akpan Andem community market in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Designed to sensitize the public on the need to keep the urban community free of waste for a cleaner air and healthier business community and proactively speaking against the ills of an unsafe environment to market users.
This awareness campaign was a mix of dance, music, car wash, skates, and games; to create awareness and leave lasting memories in the minds of people about the environment. This was a huge success because a lot of youths became involved in volunteering for environmental causes afterwards.
