Caroline Bond has been exploring ghost nets and fibers for the last 7 years, using art to engage people to the devastating impact these fishing nets have on our global marine environment. She’s a member of the @2minutebeachclean family and dedicated beach cleaner while using her online presence to share the application of weaving to waste materials.
She encourages people to view waste as a resource to upcycle, to forage for materials, removing them from harms way, sharing tutorials and creating weaving kits, whilst working on artwork within her community. Her makes include; paint brushes, wall mats, bowls, animals, earrings, birds, sculptures, baskets and headdresses.
She’s a fibre explorer from East Sussex on the south coast of the UK.
