Marilyn Sweet

Senior Advisor, National Programs Fisheries and Oceans Canada

Marilyn began working with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada in 2008 and has worked in both national headquarters in Ottawa and in the Maritimes Region in Nova Scotia. In this time she has held several positions in Resource Management including Large Pelagics Species Advisor and Marine Mammal Response Coordinator and Species Advisor for the Maritimes Region. She joined National Programs in 2019 to work on the Ghost Gear Program and has been the lead advisor for the Sustainable Fisheries Solutions and Retrieval Support Contribution Program since its launched in 2020. As part of this role she works with recipients of funds for all of the international projects, as well as projects that are national in scope within Canada.
